"I just wanted to bang my head on the wall."
Preity Zinta is one of the most loved actresses of Indian cinema.
However, the star has not always had it easy in life. She struggled for months with in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Opening up on this, Preity revealed: “I have good days and bad days just like everyone else.
“Sometimes it’s a struggle to always be happy-go-lucky in real life, especially when you’re going through a tough phase.
“I used to feel like that during my IVF cycles.
“It was very difficult to be smiley and nice all the time.
“Sometimes I just wanted to bang my head on the wall and cry or not talk to anybody.
“So yes, it has to be a balancing act for all actors.”
Preity Zinta is a proud mother to two children – Jai and Gia. In 2021, she welcomed her kids via surrogacy.
In 2016, Preity married Gene Goodenough and has since been dividing her time between the US and India.
On September 4, 2024, Preity posted a picture of her sitting with her son Jai.
Jai was seen holding a toy stethoscope to his mother’s chest.
Preity captioned the post: “Dr Jai to the rescue!”
The post attracted adorable comments from fans.
One user said: “Most beautiful actress in India and my favourite Zinta with dimples is back.”
Another fan wrote: “Jai is so handsome and his mum is so pretty. She looks like her name.”
A third excited fan posted: “I need this doctor’s contact details. Only he can save me.”
Preity Zinta began her acting career with Dil Se (1998). She has starred in classics including Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Koi…Mil Gaya (2003), and Veer-Zaara (2004).
She is set to make her Bollywood comeback with Lahore 1947. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Karan Deol.
It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan.
Divulging her comeback, Preity said: “It’s important to focus on career, but being a woman, one also needs to realise that life is not completely fair.
“There is no level playing ground as the biological clock is real.”
“People forget that for women, as actors, your craft is important, you want a body of work, but family is equally important.
“Now that my kids are over two years old, I felt I was ready to get back to work.”
Lahore 1947 is scheduled to be released in January 2025, coinciding with Republic Day.
