Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, is facing serious allegations of script theft.
Filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS alleges that the successful movie is actually based on a script he wrote in 2023.
The director from Karnataka claims he has official proof, including registration documents from the Screenwriters Association, to support him.
Santosh stated that he discovered the striking similarities only after watching the film at a local cinema hall.
“You all might have watched Dhurandhar 2. It is working very well everywhere.
“After watching the movie, I came to know that it is my script and story. I had written it with a lot of hard work in 2023.
“I had narrated it to many companies because I was told that if I need big actors in the film, there has to be a corporate organisation backing it.”
He previously pitched his creative work to several major production houses, including Sony Pictures and the famous Dharma Productions.
The writer shared his story with Zee Studios and T Series while searching for a corporate partner for his project.
He originally envisioned actor Aditya Roy Kapur for the lead role before the project was allegedly taken without his consent.
Santosh registered his story in November 2023 and possesses email records to prove his many interactions with the industry.
“I tried a lot, and I had sent my story to many people. I am a member of the Screenwriters Association, and I registered my story there in November 2023.”
The filmmaker is now planning to take strict legal action because he feels his hard work has been unfairly exploited.
“I am putting a case on this movie because even though they have made a good movie, my story has been exploited.
“I had written the film for cinema and entertainment, but they made it as political propaganda. It is hurting me.”
This specific issue is being framed as a much larger concern regarding the protection of writers within the Bollywood industry.
“What happened with me should not happen with anyone, and that’s why I will put my maximum effort to let people know about it.”
Santosh Kumar RS hails from the Thirthahalli region of Karnataka and has extensive experience as a producer and a writer.
The film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge features Ranveer Singh and has been performing very well at the global box office.
However, the production has also faced other criticisms, including comments regarding the choice of outfits for the actress Sara Arjun.
A man from Pakistan specifically questioned the realism of the actress wearing a miniskirt while filming in the Lyari area.
He described the film as overrated while pointing out inconsistencies in the portrayal of the local Pakistani culture and the setting.
Despite these varied criticisms, the movie continues to draw large crowds in theatres across the world.
