Sandeep Nahar, who starred with Sushant Singh Rajput in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, reportedly committed suicide at his home in Mumbai’s Goregaon area, on Monday, February 15, 2021.

He allegedly took the extreme step after uploading a nine-minute video announcing his intentions on Facebook.

The authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident, and a probe is underway.

In the video, he said that his family should not be held responsible for his suicide.

He accused his wife, Kanchan Sharma, and mother-in-law of picking up arguments almost every day about past issues and blackmailing him.

Nahar opened up about the personal and professional problems he was facing, mentioning Bollywood and the “politics” revolving around it.

He admitted that he was replaced from projects after everything was finalised, adding that people in Bollywood are “very practical” and without emotions.

In the video, Nahar says:

“In the last two years, my life has changed completely.

“However, I have never shared anything with anyone.

“People feel that everything is absolutely fine in my life… Kanchan has threatened to commit suicide at least 100 times.

“It’s not her mistake because her nature is such that she feels everything is normal, but it’s not normal for me.”

Nahar added that he thought of ending his life earlier but did not do so, hoping that issues would get resolved.

“I would’ve died by suicide a long time ago, but I chose to give myself some time and hope that things would get better, but they didn’t.

“I now have nowhere to go. I don’t know what awaits me after I take this step, but I’ve been through hell in this life.”

He ended the video by saying:

“I have only one request after I am gone, please do not say anything to Kanchan but do get her treated.”

The authorities said Nahar probably made the video three hours before his death.

They are now awaiting the postmortem report to understand the cause of Nahar’s death and how he died, adding that further investigation is underway.

Sandeep Nahar was born in Haryana but moved to Mumbai in 2009 to pursue a career in acting.

In 2016, he starred with actor Sushant Singh Rajput in Neeraj Pandey’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, playing Dhoni’s friend Paramjit Singh.

He also appeared in Akshay Kumar’s Kesari, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

He also worked in popular Hindi TV shows such as Crime Patrol, CID, Savdhaan India and Diya Aur Baati Hum.
