"Salman is also tired of doing cameos."
It has been reported that Salman Khan plans to stop doing cameo appearances in the YRF Spy Universe.
The popular franchise kicked off with Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger (2012) in which the star portrayed Avinash ‘Tiger’ Singh Rathore.
He reprised this role in Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Tiger 3 (2023).
Salman also appeared briefly as Tiger in the Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster Pathaan (2023).
The YRF Spy Universe also includes Hrithik Roshan’s War (2019).
Shah Rukh made a guest appearance in Tiger 3 while Hrithik featured in a post-credits scene.
YRF are currently gearing up for War 2 and Pathaan 2 is reportedly also in the pipeline.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Salman Khan has decided to hold back from performing in either of the upcoming projects.
The source stated: “Of the five films made in the Spy Universe to date, four have featured Tiger.
“The team at YRF feels that there is enough of Tiger and he should mark a return to the universe at the most crucial juncture now.
“Having random cameos in feature films will dilute the power of Tiger as a standalone character.
“[Aditya Chopra] has discussed the larger plans for Tiger with Salman Khan and even he is on the same page.
“Salman is also tired of doing cameos and is now wanting to do something substantial.
“Aditya doesn’t want the cameos within the universe to be gimmicks and hence he will be carefully plotting the criss-crossing of all key characters in the timeline ahead.
“Watch out for the return of Tiger in the most unexpected manner going forward.”
War 2 is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji and will star Jr NTR and Kiara Advani along with Hrithik Roshan. The film is slated for a 2025 release.
There have also been claims that the War and Pathaan director Siddharth Anand will make a film titled Tiger vs Pathaan which will star Salman and SRK in a full-fledged action film.
On the work front, it was recently confirmed that Salman would be collaborating with filmmaker AR Murugadoss on a new film.
It is scheduled to be released during Eid 2025.
