Ahaan Panday, who made a spectacular acting debut with Saiyaara, has revealed a brand-new look for his next film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
After charming audiences as the soulful musician Krish Kapoor, Ahaan is now ready to embrace a completely different persona.
He took to Instagram on October 15 to share his latest transformation, swapping his signature long hair and beard for a sharper haircut and trimmed beard.
The new look exudes a rugged and intense vibe, signalling a striking departure from the romantic image that fans adored in his debut.
Captioning the post, he wrote, “And that’s a cut.”
The upcoming film, yet untitled, will see Ahaan star opposite Sharvari.
It marks a new chapter in his career as he transitions into an action romance genre under Yash Raj Films.
The project is set to begin filming in early 2026 and reunites director Ali Abbas Zafar with producer Aditya Chopra for their fifth collaboration, following Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Gunday, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai.
Ahaan’s rise has been impressive since his breakout performance in Saiyaara, which smashed box office records to become the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema history.
The Mohit Suri directorial ran for over 50 days in theatres and captivated audiences with its music and heartfelt storytelling.
The film explored the emotional journey between aspiring musician Krish Kapoor and shy journalist Vaani, played by newcomer Aneet Padda.
Vaani encourages Krish to follow his dreams, but their love faces turmoil after a shocking revelation.
Both actors earned praise from across Bollywood, with stars including Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ananya Panday, and Varun Dhawan celebrating their performances.
Saiyaara is currently streaming on Netflix.
Before stepping into the spotlight, Ahaan honed his craft behind the scenes.
He worked as an assistant director on several notable projects, including Freaky Ali (2016), Rock On 2 (2016), Mardaani 2 (2019), and Netflix’s The Railway Men (2023) starring R. Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon.
Reflecting on his behind-the-camera journey, he previously spoke about the emotional and professional lessons those experiences taught him.
Born into the well-known Panday family, Ahaan is the son of businessman Chikki Panday and wellness expert Deanne Panday.
He is also the nephew of actor Chunky Panday and cousin to actress Ananya Panday.
With Saiyaara establishing him as one of Bollywood’s most promising new talents, all eyes are now on his next move as he steps into a grittier, action-packed avatar.
