“Men change their wives after every two years"
Following the unexpected news of Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed’s marriage, Saeeda Imtiaz expressed her unhappiness with it.
Shoaib and Sana’s wedding pictures were shared on January 20, 2024.
Following the announcement, netizens have come forward to offer congratulations whilst others have said they feel sorry for Sania Mirza, who had posted a cryptic post about marriage and divorce just days before.
Amongst the sea of comments, Pakistani celebrities have also shared their thoughts about the newest celebrity couple in town.
Saba Faisal shared a picture of the happy couple and wrote:
“I pray to God that you stay together forever and never stop holding hands.
“Stay happy and blessed. Congratulations Shoaib and Sana.”
Nadia Hussain said: “Masha’Allah congratulations.”
A shocked Rabia Anum Obaid added: “My jaw is on the floor quite literally.”
But among the happy comments, there was one in particular who was not very impressed with the union.
Saeeda Imtiaz shared her thoughts on the matter and said she would not marry a guy from Pakistan as they cannot stick to one woman.
Saeeda wrote: “After seeing the situation in Pakistan I don’t think I want to marry a Pakistani.
“There is not a marriage here, there are marriages. I’ll find someone from another country.
“Men change their wives after every two years here, just like the Prime Ministers change.”
Saeeda ended the caption with the hashtag #justathought.
Rumours of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza’s divorce have been circulating for a while.
Neither confirmed nor denied the news and chose to keep a dignified silence about their private life.
However, the retired tennis star’s father revealed that Sania had opted to ask for a Khula, which gives a woman the Islamic right to ask for a divorce from her husband.
Eagle-eyed fans had noticed something was wrong in Sana and Umair Jaswal’s marriage when it became evident that Sana was nowhere to be seen during Umair’s brother’s wedding celebrations.
Fans questioned Umair about the whereabouts of his then-wife, but an answer was not given to the public.
One fan questioned: Why isn’t she [Sana] at her brother-in-law’s wedding?”
Another said: “I can see Saba Yasir and Uzair, Umair’s brother, but why can’t I see Sana throughout this whole wedding?”
Another added: “The last I heard, Umair and Sana have separated. What’s the 411?”
