Aziz Ansari will be up against the likes of Zach Galifianakis and Donald Glover.
The Emmy nominations have become unveiled for 2017. Recognising the achievements of American television, a number of shows and actors have received nods for their performances.
And this year, both Riz Ahmed and Aziz Ansari feature on the list, meaning they are up for the chance to win an Emmy.
Both the actors have landed two nominations in the list.
The details of Emmy nominations became released on 13th July. The awards ceremony will take place on 17th September.
For 2017, Aziz Ansari received a nod for his outstanding role as Dev Shah in Masters of None. He will be up against the likes of Zach Galifianakis and Donald Glover for the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award.
The actor also earned a nomination, alongside Lena Waithe, in the Writing for a Comedy Series category. The show itself has also landed a spot in the Comedy Series category.
Riz Ahmed also became nominated for the awards ceremony, landing a place in the Lead Actor in a Limited TV Series or TV Movie category. It recognises his brilliant performance in The Night Of, where he played college student Nasir Khan.
The category also includes Robert De Niro, Geoffrey Rush and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Night Of has also received a nod in the Limited Series category. In addition, Riz also landed a nod in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, for his appearance in Girls.

While this marks the first time Riz Ahmed has appeared in the Emmy nominations, Aziz Ansari had received several nods in 2016 for the first season of his hit show, Masters of None. Out of the four nominations, he landed an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
As the second season also received high praises, perhaps Aziz will enjoy similar success? Undoubtedly, many fans will hope both Aziz and Riz will go on to win potential Emmys.
Overall, the list has received praises for presenting a more diverse array of nominations. Forbes reported that 24.6% of the nominees are people of colour, an increase from 21.9% in 2016. However, many hope this figure will continue to rise.
With the Emmys scheduled on 17th September 2017, many will tune in to see the glamorous ceremony take place.
We wish Riz and Aziz congratulations on their Emmy nominations!
