Aziz Ansari accused of Sexually Assaulting a Woman

Desi Amercian actor Aziz Ansari has been accused of sexual misconduct. A 23-year-old female photographer claims he sexually assaulted her in 2017.

On 14th January 2018, a woman, her name changed to Grace, recounted the alleged incident to Babe.net. They had reportedly met during an after-party at the Emmys 2017.

She claims they exchanged numbers and agreed to go on a date in September 2017. While it initially went well at a restaurant, she adds how eager Aziz seemed for them to head to his Manhattan apartment:

“Like, he got the check and then it was bada-boom, bada-bing, we’re out of there.”

Once at his residence, Grace claims the date became uncomfortable for her. She says: “In a second, his hand was on my breast.”

While she reportedly expressed her hesitation, she says Aziz continued with his attempts to have sex with her. He allegedly kissed her briefly, performed oral sex on her and asked her to do the same.

Grace also detailed a move she claims he would perform, which she dubbed as the “claw”. He allegedly would stick his fingers into her mouth and then attempt to perform a sex act on her.

The photographer says she gave verbal and non-verbal signals that she felt uncomfortable. She adds:

“I know I was physically giving off cues that I wasn’t interested. I don’t think that was noticed at all, or if it was, it was ignored.”

Aziz also allegedly asked her repeatedly where she wanted to have sex. At one point, she explained to the actor how she didn’t want to “feel forced”, to which he allegedly agreed with and suggested for them to sit on the sofa.

However, Grace claims once they sat down: “He sat back and pointed to his penis and motioned for me to go down on him. And I did. I think I just felt really pressured.”

Once they sat down to watch an episode of Seinfeld, Grace says:

“It really hit me that I was violated. I felt really emotional all at once when we sat down there. That that whole experience was actually horrible.”

Afterwards, the photographer caught an Uber home, where she “cried the whole ride home”. Aziz had reportedly sent her a text message the following day, saying the date was “fun”.

Grace replied back, explaining how uncomfortable she felt: “I want to make sure you’re aware so maybe the next girl doesn’t have to cry on the ride home.”

He reportedly responded with: “I’m so sad to hear this. Clearly, I misread things in the moment and I’m truly sorry.”

Babe.net explains that they saw the text exchange between Aziz and Grace. They confirm that the actor’s number matched with his details on a public register.

On social media, many have expressed their shock at the claims. Particularly as Aziz has spoken on sexual assault and explored the issue in an episode of his series Master of None.

In addition, he was one of the many celebrities who supported the Time’s Up campaign at the Golden Globes 2018. Where he won ‘Best Actor in a Comedy Series‘.

Currently, Aziz and his management team have not responded to the allegations.
