Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is about to make his television debut.
There has been speculation about whether Singh will make his debut on TV by hosting a quiz reality show.
Now, the rumours have been confirmed true, and Ranveer Singh will host the new Colors quiz show titled The Big Picture.
Colors aired the first look of the show featuring Singh on Friday, July 2, 2021.
The channel also took to Instagram to announce the news of Ranveer Singh’s new role.
In a statement about his latest venture, Ranveer Singh said:
“In my journey as an artist, the urge to experiment and explore has been constant.
“Indian cinema has undeniably given me everything – it’s been a platform for me to excel and showcase my skills as an actor and I have been fortunate to get immense love from the people of India.
“Now, I look to connect with them in an extremely unique and engaging way through my television debut with Colors’ The Big Picture.
“The proposition of introducing India to a ‘now’ generation quiz show sealed the deal for me.
“I am delighted to associate with Colors to bring alive this exciting new property.”
According to reports, the format of Ranveer Singh’s new show The Big Picture will be similar to Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.
Contestants will have several lifelines and have the opportunity to win a cash prize for playing well.
The news of Ranveer Singh’s TV debut comes after he spoke out about his struggles in the Bollywood industry.
According to the actor, the road to stardom was a tough one. He said:
“Getting one’s foot inside the door of a largely exclusive entertainment industry seemed unachievable, but I persisted.
“You could say I was both hungry and foolish, but more than anything I believed in my abilities and in my potential.
“Even back then, when I had nothing, the same driven, tenacious and meticulous work ethic was characteristic of my hustle.”
Ranveer Singh went on to reveal that his Bollywood success is down to hard work and determination.
He said:
“When there wasn’t a good lead in sight for long periods, the phone wouldn’t ring for months.
“I stayed focused in the most testing of times.
“I almost forced the universe into making it happen for me.
“My determination eventually paid off and my dream became my reality.”
