"We are already halfway down filming Part Two."

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that he will play two distinct characters in the upcoming mythological epic titled Ramayana.

The highly anticipated film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who is famous for his work on the movie Dangal.

In a recent interview, the actor disclosed that he portrays both Lord Ram and the sage Parashuram.

This ambitious project features actress Sai Pallavi as Sita and the superstar Yash as the formidable character named Ravan.

With a staggering budget of 4000 crore rupees, this production is now the most expensive Indian film ever.

Ranbir shared that filming for the second instalment of this grand two-part saga is already well underway.

He stated: “We are already halfway down filming Part Two, at least my portions. So it is even more exciting than all of us have seen.”

The first teaser for the film was released recently, providing fans with their very first visual glimpse.

While many viewers appreciated the grand scale of the visuals, others raised concerns about the quality of the VFX.

Some internet users have expressed scepticism regarding the casting of Ranbir Kapoor for such a divine and pure role.

Veteran actor Sunil Lahri, who played Lakshman in the original Ramayan television series, also shared his personal, honest views.

Lahri mentioned that while Ranbir looks okay, he believes the actor lacks the specific innocence required for the part.

“Ranbir looks okay, but the innocence is a little less. The patience, calm, and innocence that Arun (Govil) had are missing here.

“Still, I’m sure he’ll do justice to the role with his acting.”

Lahri suggested that a fresh face without any existing baggage might have been a better choice for this role.

“He looks a little harsh; he might suit roles like Laxman or Bharat better.”

To prepare for these roles, Ranbir spent a whole year trying to understand the deep spirituality of the characters.

“As an actor, apart from body language, I think if you deeply understand the spirituality and emotionality of the characters, I think everything starts from there.

“That is what I did a year leading to the shoot of Ramayana is to really understand who these characters are, what their motives are.

“Then, everything just becomes easier.”

The actor believes that understanding the motives and values of the characters makes the entire acting process much easier.

Netizens have been comparing the new teaser to the classic depictions of the epic seen in the older series.

Some critics pointed out that the portrayal of the sacred city of Varanasi was not meeting their high expectations.

Despite the backlash, the production team remains confident that the final film will provide a truly spectacular cinematic experience.

Fans are eager to see how the two-part epic will eventually unfold on the big screen.
