“They just landed a big distribution."
The makers of Ramayana showcased their ambitious adaptation of the ancient Indian epic during the recent CinemaCon event.
Producer Namit Malhotra and actor Yash presented a first look at the grand annual convention held in Las Vegas.
An attendee revealed that the producers screened approximately 20 minutes of unseen footage for a select group of people.
A YouTuber known as Mr Like It Or Not claimed that “this film can be both, a true grand epic, and also a spectacular fantasy story.”
This creator further suggested that Warner Bros has officially signed on to serve as the international distributor for the film.
This major partnership will reportedly result in the film appearing on over 4500 screens in November 2026.
The YouTuber stated: “They just landed a big distribution here in America that will give them a big, global push.”
Although the buzz is quite significant, neither the production team nor Warner Bros Discovery has confirmed this distribution news yet.
The creator shared that he was among the few people who got to see the secret footage at the event.
He noted: “I was lucky enough with about 15 other people to see about 20 minutes of footage.”
The visuals were described as fantastic, and the witness believes the film will become a major international feature film player.
Predictions are already emerging that the project will likely secure a nomination for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards.
The creator insisted that the narrative works very well, and the film fits the style required for an Oscar win.
Addressing recent online criticism regarding the special effects, the YouTuber clarified:
“I believe the VFX is not going to be an issue.”
This upcoming cinematic venture is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is designed as a massive two-part film series.
Ramayana Part One is scheduled for release in November 2026, while the concluding second part will follow in the year 2027.
The star-studded cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and the popular actor Yash as the villainous Ravana.
Joining them are Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey portrays the character Lakshman.
This adaptation aims to blend a grand epic narrative with spectacular fantasy elements to appeal to a broad global audience.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the official confirmation of the distribution deal, which could be revolutionary for Indian cinema.
