Radhika Apte has established herself as the unconventional actress of Bollywood with her surprising choices and off-beat films.
The actress has starred in a mixture of TV shows and films and her next outing is in The Wedding Guest.
It has already released in the USA and it is gearing up to hit the screens in other parts of the globe.
Radhika will star alongside Dev Patel and fans are excited to see the pair on-screen together. The film is about a mysterious man on his journey across India and Pakistan.
However, the film grabbed headlines after a sex scene between the two was leaked online. Screenshots from the intimate scene circulated on the internet.
This prompted the actress to speak about her scene with Dev:
“The film The Wedding Guest has many other beautiful sequences and the fact that one particular sex scene got leaked because of the psychotic mentality of the society.”
Radhika also questioned why people were calling it her sex scene when it also features Dev.
“The leaked sex scene featured both Radhika Apte and Dev Patel in it. But the scenes are being spread in my name.
“Why the people are not getting spread under the male actor Dev Patel’s name?”
This is not the first time that an intimate scene from Radhika’s film has been leaked online. Her sex scene with Adil Hussain in Parched was leaked in 2016.
In the same year, a nude clip of the actress went viral which prompted Anurag Kashyap to explain that it was part of a short film he was directing.
In the past, Radhika has spoken about how she is comfortable performing intimate scenes in films.
“I have been brought up watching world cinema and I have travelled a lot so I am very comfortable with my body.
“I have seen people performing nude on stage in India and abroad.”
The Wedding Guest is directed by Michael Winterbottom and also stars Jim Sarbh in a major role.
Radhika Apte was last seen in thriller series Sacred Games and she will reunite with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Raat Akeli Hai, a crime thriller directed by Honey Trehan. The film completed shooting in April 2019.
The actress also starred in international film Liberte: A Call to Spy where she played real-life World War II spy Nora Baker.
