"her husband Sam Bombay had molested her and threatened her"
Actress and model Poonam Pandey filed a police complaint against her husband Sam Bombay. She alleged that he molested, assaulted and threatened her.
Bombay was arrested on September 22, 2020, in Canacona village in Goa.
An official said that Poonam was there shooting a film. It is also believed that the couple were on their honeymoon as three days prior to the arrest, Poonam took to Instagram to share a short video clip of her and Bombay.
She captioned the post: “Having the best honeymoon.”
The couple have been married for two weeks. Poonam announced that they had tied the knot on September 11, 2020.
Inspector Tukaram Chavan of Canacona Police Station said:
“Pandey filed a complaint late Monday night claiming her husband Sam Bombay had molested her and threatened her with dire consequences after assaulting her. He was arrested.”
Inspector Chavan added that Poonam was subjected to mandatory medical tests.
While the investigation is ongoing to determine what happened, it is believed that a “personal dispute” was the cause.
This comes after Poonam shared numerous pictures from her wedding.
She captioned her Instagram post: “Here’s looking forward to seven lifetimes with you.”
Poonam and Bombay met each other on the set of a project and got into a relationship. They started living together sometime in 2018.
They got married at their home in Bandra, Mumbai. It was a low-key ceremony with just close friends and family members in attendance.
She explained the reason for a small wedding: “Amidst the ongoing pandemic and given the sad reports that we read on a daily basis, we decided to spread some joy.
“The wedding was a private ceremony at our home in Bandra, attended by family and select close friends who danced with us and blessed us. It wasn’t. Sam and I are the most notorious couple!
“The wedding had to be private considering the Covid-19 situation.”
In a previous interview, Poonam Pandey spoke about their relationship, calling her and Bombay “the most notorious couple”.
She had said:
“We couldn’t ignore the fireworks between us and everything has been like a romantic Bollywood movie since.”
“I’ll need three months to list everything that made me fall in love with him.
“Of course, I’m going to brag about my husband being the smartest on the planet according to me. Jokes apart, we are very similar in many ways.
“He is my best friend and the amazing part is that we’re so thick that we can read each other’s mind.”
In May 2020, the couple were reportedly booked by the Mumbai Police for breaking lockdown rules. However, Poonam denied the news.
