Legendary Pakistani ghazal singer Tahira Syed has personally stepped forward to put to rest deeply distressing rumours about her passing.
She addressed the false reports through a video message shared on Facebook, assuring fans that she was completely fine.
Rumours circulating across the internet had falsely claimed that the beloved singer had died, sending fans into a state of genuine grief.
When the reports reached Syed herself, she responded directly and warmly, choosing to speak to her concerned fans in a personal and reassuring manner.
“I have come to know that rumours are being spread about my health.
“I am absolutely fine, by the grace of God.
“I am living a really good life in New York.
“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.”
She also shared a written statement on the subject, addressing the false reports with clarity and gratitude for those who had reached out.
“I have come to learn that false reports of my passing are being circulated on social media.
“These are not true. Alhamdulillah, I am alive, well and in good health.
“I request everyone not to share this false news and to help correct the misinformation wherever it appears.”
She added that she was deeply moved by the warmth, concern and affection shown by the many people who contacted her after seeing the false reports.
Alongside her video, she also posted a written note thanking her friends, family and well-wishers for their prayers and genuine concern.
Support from fellow industry figures came quickly as prominent voices helped amplify the truth and dispel the harmful rumours spreading online.
Designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin shared a photograph of the singer on his own platform, stating clearly that she was in good health.
Veteran performer Bushra Ansari also reposted Syed’s video message to her own social media account, helping the clarification reach an even wider audience.
