Filmmaker and author Tahira Kashyap has revealed that her breast cancer has returned after seven years.
Sharing the news on World Health Day, she took to Instagram to inform her followers about the relapse.
Tahira also highlighted the significance of regular health screenings.
Known for her candidness, Tahira expressed strength and hope in her post, saying:
“Round 2 for me… I still got this.”
In her heartfelt message, she credited regular mammograms for the early detection, encouraging everyone to prioritise their health.
True to her resilient nature, Tahira injected humour into the situation, adding:
“When life gives you lemons make lemonade.
“When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions.
“Because for one it’s a better drink and two you know you will give it your best once again.”
Her openness has made her a powerful voice for breast cancer awareness, and she continues to inspire others with her approach to handling life’s challenges.
Tahira’s husband, Ayushmann Khurrana, has been by her side throughout her cancer battle, providing unwavering support.
In response to her Instagram post, Ayushmann shared a brief yet emotional message accompanied by a heart and teary-eyed emoji:
“My hero.”
The post sparked an outpouring of support from friends and colleagues.

Sonali Bendre, a cancer survivor herself, sent her prayers and love.

Tahira’s first battle with breast cancer began in 2018 when she underwent a mastectomy.
