Both of her arms were wounded.

Quratulain Balouch, famously known as QB, survived a rare bear attack while camping in the Deosai National Park.

The singer, celebrated for her soulful rendition of Humsafar’s title track, was visiting the plateau with her friends.

She was near Bara Pani when the incident occurred, reportedly while attempting to photograph a Himalayan brown bear.

According to initial reports, the animal attacked suddenly, injuring both her arms before her driver and companions intervened bravely.

Eyewitnesses said the driver rushed forward and distracted the bear, after which her companions successfully chased it away.

Balouch was later shifted in an injured condition to Skardu Regional Hospital, where doctors confirmed she was stable and safe.

Hospital staff revealed that both of her arms were wounded, requiring immediate medical attention and protective bandages after treatment.

Photographs from the hospital circulated online, showing the singer with wrapped arms, sparking concern and prayers from countless admirers worldwide.

One fan wrote: “Just heard the news about the bear attack, are you okay, QB? Sending prayers and strength.”

Another message read: “It breaks my heart to hear about Deosai. I hope you are safe and healing.”

Several admirers also left advice regarding responsible camping practices in wildlife habitats, especially during the sensitive monsoon mating season.

One person explained that during mating season, bears have heightened senses while searching for partners in remote areas.

The same user added that such adventures should be avoided during this season and always inform to forest guides.

In response to the incident, Gilgit Baltistan authorities immediately announced a ban on overnight camping within Deosai National Park.

Spokesperson Faizullah Faraq stated that no tourists or travellers would be permitted to camp overnight under the new restrictions.

He explained the measure aimed to ensure public safety and preserve the fragile alpine ecosystem, increasingly stressed by growing tourism.

Known as the “Land of Giants”, Deosai is one of the world’s highest plateaus, above thirteen thousand feet.

It stretches across 3,000 square kilometres and hosts rare wildlife, including Himalayan brown bears, snow leopards, and golden marmots.

Authorities have long warned that uncontrolled visitor activity threatens both the wildlife and tourists.

Balouch’s career first rose with ‘Woh Humsafar Tha’, which became iconic as the soundtrack for the hit drama Humsafar.

She later built her reputation further with memorable Coke Studio performances and playback songs featured in Bollywood film productions.

But for now, fans are less focused on Quratulain Balouch’s music and more on her recovery after the frightening ordeal.
