Pakistani Man tried to Lure Tenant into Sex then Shared Photos

A Pakistani man has pleaded guilty at the Court of First Instance after he faced multiple charges which included defaming a woman on social media.

The 40-year-old man, who lives in Dubai and works as a vendor, was angered when the woman rejected his sexual advances.

After she moved out of their shared accommodation, he began uploading her photos onto Facebook along with lewd captions. The unnamed defendant also shared her phone number.

The man is accused of sexually harassing the woman and inappropriately touching her without consent. He was also charged with trying to coerce her into sex and breaching one’s privacy.

The case dates back to August 2019 after the woman registered a complaint at Al Rashidiya Police Station.

The victim, also a Pakistani national, explained that she arrived in Dubai on May 4, 2019, on a visit visa.

She stayed in a flat owned by the defendant’s father where the suspect also stayed.

The woman said: “I stayed in the main room with other women and we paid rent.”

The victim revealed that she was sexually harassed by the Pakistani man. His constant harassment prompted her to move to another flat.

“He would touch me often. He also told me not to look for a job and that he would support me if I had sex with him.”

After she rejected his sexual advances and moved out, the suspect began to torment her by sending text and voice messages to her friends and relatives.

He would wrongly tell them that she was a prostitute. The man would also claim that she would have sex with married men and then leave them after ruining their marriages.

The woman told police: “He also opened many fake Facebook accounts where he posted my photos along with my phone number and the bad words about me.”

Following the woman’s complaint, the man was arrested. He was charged but he later admitted to the offences.

One police officer said: “After receiving the complaint, we arrested him.

“He confessed he stole the woman’s photos from her mobile phone and then opened a fake account on Facebook where he posted those photos with her number.

“He also sent her photos to her relatives in Pakistan to force her to have sex with him.”

Officers searched the defendant’s home and seized his phone.

Menafn reported that the defendant remains in custody. He is due to be sentenced on February 27, 2020.
