Bangladeshi actress Nidra Dey Neha has announced her departure from the entertainment industry after voicing her frustration over what she described as an unfair and unethical environment.

In a Facebook post, Nidra revealed that she could no longer continue working in such a space.

She claimed that hard work and talent are frequently overlooked in favour of popularity and personal connections.

She wrote: “I always wanted to be involved with art, culture, and acting.

But unfortunately, my love for acting is being destroyed daily due to injustice and devaluation.”

Nidra Dey Neha began her journey in showbiz through Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020.

She made her acting debut in the web film Antonagar, directed by Goutam Koiri.

She later gained wider attention for her performance as Beli in Shoroter Joba.

Despite these milestones, Nidra said she consistently struggled to find her place in an industry she felt was dominated by favouritism and syndicates.

She criticised the system for favouring social media followings and industry connections over genuine dedication.

The actress said: “Those who are professional, qualified, loyal and serious about their projects, passionate about their work but unfortunately they do not get proper respect.

“Sometimes it’s because they are new, sometimes because they don’t have close ties with producers.”

Nidra added that these experiences had taken a toll on her mental well-being.

She mentioned that she has a few pending projects, including Taandob alongside Shakib Khan.

However, Nidra stated she is not in the right mental state to continue.

“I just always wanted to do my work with honesty and dedication. But I think they don’t value these things.”

The actress expressed her gratitude to fans and colleagues who had supported her over the last five years.

She said:

“I’m grateful to those who actually valued my qualities, grateful to those who loved me and my work so much.”

Nidra also offered an apology to anyone she may have wronged during her career, asking for forgiveness.

Nidra’s departure has sparked widespread discussion about the structural issues in the Bangladeshi entertainment world.

Many have echoed her concerns and called for a fairer system that values merit over popularity.

A user said: “She is right. there is no eye for real talent here. Only connections work.”

One commented: “This favouritism must stop or our industry will face a downfall.”
