They took Usman away at gunpoint.
Deputy Director Muhammad Usman of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has gone missing while investigating the Ducky Bhai case.
Officials revealed to the Islamabad High Court that Usman was handling key cybercrime investigations when he disappeared earlier this month.
District Superintendent of Police, Legal Sajid Cheema, said that efforts were underway to locate the missing officer.
He added that a senior superintendent of police had been tasked with leading the investigation and coordinating with other departments.
Cheema told the court that the missing deputy director was directly involved in the Ducky Bhai case.
He added that other members of the same investigative team had also gone missing under similar circumstances.
According to the police, a relevant cybercrime case was being pursued in Lahore prior to the disappearance.
The situation took another troubling turn when Usman’s wife, Rozina Usman, who had filed the initial complaint, also went missing days later.
Rozina had lodged a first information report at Shams Colony Police Station, reporting that her husband had been abducted by four unidentified armed men.
She stated that the incident took place at approximately 7:30 pm on October 14, 2025, outside their home.
The abductors, according to her statement, arrived in a white car. She said they took Usman away at gunpoint.
During the latest hearing, Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi, who represents Rozina, told the court that his client had now disappeared as well.
DSP Cheema presented additional details, stating that Rozina’s last known locations were traced between Lahore and Islamabad.
Her phone records showed activity until October 18, 2025, with her final location being Empress Road in Lahore before her device was switched off.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, who is overseeing the case, expressed concern over the disappearances.
He issued a three-day deadline to the police for Usman’s recovery.
Justice Khan noted that the court’s goal was not to schedule endless hearings but to ensure swift action and resolution.
He previously warned that if the Islamabad police failed to make progress, the Inspector General and senior NCCIA officers would be required to appear in person.
The next hearing has been scheduled for October 31, 2025, with the court granting an additional week to produce results.
Authorities continue to investigate the linked disappearances, which now involve both the missing officer and his wife.
The situation has sparked public speculation, as many question whether Usman’s ongoing investigation into the Ducky Bhai case could be connected to his disappearance.
Law enforcement agencies have yet to identify any suspects, but officials insist that every lead is being pursued.
As the case unfolds, the Islamabad High Court remains under pressure to find the missing deputy director.
