The crackdown will not spare anyone involved.
Controversies seem to be following the Pakistani YouTuber Ducky Bhai endlessly, with Pakistan’s cybercrime now probing him.
Karachi authorities have intensified scrutiny on digital influencers after Ducky Bhai was detained at the airport.
The YouTuber was attempting to travel abroad for a private event, sparking widespread speculation about the reason behind his sudden stop.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has now broken its silence.
The agency revealed that the influencer is under investigation for allegedly promoting betting applications.
Officials claimed that these apps are responsible for channelling millions of dollars out of Pakistan.
In an interview with Samaa News, Additional Director of Cyber Crime Chaudhary Sarfaraz did not hold back.
He directly named Ducky Bhai as someone who encouraged gambling among young audiences through online platforms.
He stated that influencers like him endorse a lifestyle that glorifies pornography, party culture, and luxury while undermining education and responsible behaviour.
The director warned that the crackdown will not spare anyone involved in such digital campaigns.
He said: “I will name the shameless person — Ducky Bhai — who is teaching gambling to kids.
“These YouTubers sell a lifestyle: pornography, party culture, luxury — and they ridicule the value of education.
“We are taking strict action against all those who promote such destructive behaviour online.”
The statement from the cybercrime authorities quickly spread across social media, where critics of the YouTuber reacted strongly.
While loyal fans defended him, a large number of users supported the authorities, with some calling for him to be made an example.
They opined that this would discourage other influencers from promoting similar harmful content.
Some users remarked that even major sports events like the Pakistan Super League previously showcased betting app sponsorships.
They questioned why action had not been taken sooner, while others demanded that the investigation be expanded to uncover additional influencers.
They highlighted that there are many others who are endorsing these platforms under the guise of sponsorships and paid promotions.
A user said: “Great, make an example out of him.”
Another noted: “Even PSL jerseys were promoting these apps. Why was the action delayed for so long?”
Officials emphasised that the betting apps in question specifically target youth, luring them with promises of quick money.
For Ducky Bhai, the future remains uncertain, as his situation could escalate into serious legal consequences if the allegations are proven true.
