"I’m working on two projects, one of which is very special.”

Naeema Butt recently attended a fundraiser event in London, where she engaged in an interview with UK-based Pakistani journalist Murtaza Ali Shah.

During the event, she delighted fans by performing her iconic dialogue with the character Sharjeena (Hania Aamir).

On her future endeavours, Naeema revealed: “Fans ask me about my upcoming projects.

“I’m working on two projects, one of which is very special.”

Although she couldn’t disclose many details, she hinted that the new project would reflect the essence of her roles in Jindo and End-e-Wafa.

She emphasised her passion for acting as a means to inspire social change, adding:

“It’s an exciting project.”

Naeema also recently shared a humorous moment with co-star Emmad Irfani in an Instagram Story.

The two, known for their roles in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, crossed paths in London.

Naeema channelled her infamous character Rubab, accusing Emmad’s character, Adeel, of treachery once again.

She exclaimed: “I’m here in London right now, and guess who I just found?”

Naeema showed a cheerful Emmad along with his wife, fashion designer Maryam Shafaat.

She teased: “What are you doing here, Adeel? With another woman?”

Emmad, in a playful tone, replied: “Love in London.”

Naeema, shaking her head, responded: “That’s the film’s title. We’re here in front of Buckingham Palace.”

The duo gained acclaim for their portrayal of Adeel and Rubab, an ambitious couple whose turbulent marriage is marked by flaws and poor decisions.

Even now, audiences praise Naeema and Emmad’s performances as complex and malicious characters.

In a previous interview with BBC News Urdu, they discussed the impact their roles have had on their lives.

Emmad noted: “It doesn’t matter much that [Adeel and Rubab] are a hated couple. What matters is how truthfully we portray the script.”

Naeema added:

“I’ve been getting a lot of love for Rubab. I can count the negative messages about how people hate her, but it’s not that many.”

When asked about Adeel’s infidelity, Emmad explained that his character’s superiority complex stems from deeper insecurities.

He elaborated: “He’s been pampered by his family, facing societal pressure to excel. It’s a survival of the fittest for him.”

Conversely, Naeema Butt expressed that fans’ animosity toward Rubab sometimes translates into appreciation.

She revealed: “I’ve received comments stating they used to like Rubab but not anymore, yet they thank me for portraying her well.”
