Nadiya Hussain gets her own TV Cookery Show

The Great British Bake Off 2015 winner, Nadiya Hussain, is set to get her own cookery show on the BBC, specialising in food delights of Bangladesh.

Nadiya Hussain, winner of The Great British Bake Off 2015, is set to star in her own television show called The Chronicles of Nadiya.

This show will be shown on the BBC, and will be a two-part travel food programme, where Nadiya will be exploring food of Bangladesh.

Beginning in her hometown in Luton, Nadiya will journey to her family village in Northeast Bangladesh, chronicling her heritage.

The BBC have described this new spin-off show as set to be an ‘exuberant’ food inspired journey.

The multiple star-baker winner has also expressed her joy at the exciting news of her new television cookery show.

Whilst exploring her culinary roots, Nadiya will be impressing the nation by cooking much-loved dishes from her childhood and learning new recipes.

The show will also see Nadiya exploring the changes and variance in the food in Bangladesh since she last visited for her wedding almost a decade ago.

Patrick Holland, the head of commissioning for documentaries at the BBC, says: “Nadiya’s story on Bake Off touched the hearts of the nation.”

“We are delighted that she will be using her cooking skills to take us on a journey to such an extraordinary and changing land.”

Since winning The Great British Bake Off, and being the first British-Asian winner of the popular BBC show, Nadiya has achieved much more outside the show.

She has recently baked the Queen’s 90th birthday cake, personally delivering it to her on the day near Windsor Castle.

Alongside this prestigious honour, Nadiya has also been seen hitting headlines with her new book, Nadiya’s Kitchen.
