“I know she’s the one"
Love Is Blind UK returned to Netflix for its second season, along with a fresh batch of 30 singles.
The show allows single men and women to blindly date, fall in love and get engaged.
Season two introduced viewers to Kal Pasha and Sarover Kaur Aujla, whose connection quickly became a highlight of the show.
Sarover is a medical company owner from Buckinghamshire and has largely focused on her education and career, often keeping men in the friend zone.
Her attempts at dating, from online apps to family setups, had largely been unsuccessful, with one first date even involving a man lying about his age.
Meanwhile, Kal co-owns a gym in Wigan.
He has had seven relationships end before the 12-month mark. Watching his brothers settle down had fuelled his determination to find a lasting partnership.
When the pair met in the pods, the chemistry was immediate.
Kal loved Sarover’s “posh” accent, and they quickly discovered shared experiences: both were children of divorced parents, entrepreneurs, and gym enthusiasts.
They also shared South Asian heritage, Sarover Indian, Kal half-Pakistani, a factor that could have complicated matters.
On Love Is Blind UK, Kal admitted to the other guys:
“I’ve met Indian girls before who haven’t been able to date Pakistani guys, and vice versa.”
Sarover, who had previously only dated Indian men, admitted she had often prioritised family expectations over her own desires.
Kal spoke about almost losing two brothers, while Sarover shared her struggles with anxiety.
The pair became each other’s top connection and got engaged in the second episode.
In the confessional, Kal said: “I know she’s the one because of the excitement I feel before I’m getting to speak to her.
In the pods, he called her “Princess” and expressed gratitude for finding her.
Kal asked: “Will you join me on this insanely crazy, beautiful rollercoaster we call life and marry me?”
Sarover’s response was unequivocal: “100 per cent, no doubt, I’m so ready for our next chapter together.”
Their in-person reveal confirmed their attraction, as Kal wore a traditional sherwani.
The meeting went smoothly, with “I love yous” exchanged.
But in Cyprus, Kal said Sarover is a welcome departure from his typical type of blonde, white girls, something Sarover latches onto and feels insecure about.
She confides in fellow Love Is Blind UK contestant Ashleigh, who encourages her to be open about her struggles.
