"But getting married is massive, the commitment."
The second batch of Love is Blind UK episodes premiered on Netflix and episode eight followed the couples as they returned to the UK and adjusted to life together.
For Kal and Sarover, it was an emotional episode centred on meeting family and seeking approval.
After getting engaged and travelling to Cyprus, the couple began navigating the challenges of real life.
Kal admitted to being nervous about meeting Sarover’s family, telling the cameras that he was scared of getting a “grilling”.
Still, he said their approval mattered for both the wedding and marriage.
When Kal met Sarover’s mother, Bali, and sister Sharan, Bali asked him what made Sarover unique.
Kal said he had never dated a southern girl before and was drawn to her accent. He explained: “It was new and exciting.”
He also highlighted their shared love of fitness.
Bali replied: “But getting married is massive, the commitment.”
She questioned if he was truly ready, but Kal insisted he was. He said he wanted kids and family and added that he could not wait for the wedding night.
Sarover then asked her mother and sister how they felt about the process.
Sharan admitted, “It has all happened quickly”, noting that the family was used to seeing her journey unfold over time.
Sarover explained to her mother that she often got overwhelmed when it came to communication with her. She acknowledged Bali’s concern but urged her to trust her judgment.
She said: “I’ve never done anything in my life where you feel, ‘Whoa, Sarover’s off the rails’ or ‘What’s Sarover doing?’ or questioning any decision I’ve ever made.”
Sarover added that her mother’s communication style sometimes came across as a lack of trust. She made clear her decision was real and that she was going ahead with it.
In a confessional, Sarover admitted she received many messages from her mother and worried that her family’s “fears and anxieties” could become overwhelming.
She said while their approval mattered, she was ready to put her connection with Kal first, even without it.
Sarover also told her mother she had taken the traditional route of dating in the past but had always used her head over her heart. This time, she said, she was leading with her heart.
Kal shared that he and Sarover had connected on a deeper level than he had ever experienced before.
He explained there was no “scientific formula” for a successful marriage, noting that even couples who date for years can fail.
Kal said their relationship had a strong foundation and that this was the reason he was committed to her.
Bali later admitted in a confessional that Kal had impressed her and even surprised her with his answers. She then blessed the couple, holding their hands and showing her support.
For Kal and Sarover, episode eight marked a turning point as family concerns gave way to cautious approval.
The final two episodes of Love is Blind UK releases on August 27.
