Kriti Sanon replaces Kiara Advani in Don 3?

Kriti Sanon is reportedly set to be the female lead in Don 3, replacing Kiara Advani.

According to reports, the actress has agreed in principle to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial comeback.

Kriti is expected to officially sign the film within the next two weeks, as the makers finalise pre-production for the third instalment of the Don franchise.

A source told Pinkvilla: “Farhan Akhtar and the creative team of Excel Entertainment were looking to cast an experienced actress with a screen presence on board Don 3, and Kriti Sanon fits the bill like hand in glove.

“She has the aura to play Roma on screen, and is excited to sign the dotted lines soon.”

The franchise, which began with Amitabh Bachchan in the 1970s and was revived by Shah Rukh Khan in the 2000s, will now see Ranveer Singh step into the lead role.

Farhan Akhtar returns to the director’s chair after over a decade.

Kiara Advani was initially set to play the female lead.

However, she exited the cast after she announced her pregnancy.

A source said at the time: “She is currently wrapping up shooting for Toxic and War 2, post which Advani will take a break to spend time with family and her child.

“Her decision was respected by the makers, who are now on the lookout to find a new heroine.”

Speaking about Don 3, the source added:

“Don 3 will be shot largely in Europe and the locations are already closed.

“The script is also locked, and all that remains now is slight polishing alongside the action design.

“The pre-production work will go on for the next few months, and the team is aiming to take the film on floors by October/November 2025.”

Farhan Akhtar has already begun scouting action sequences with an international stunt team.

With a mega-budget and a fresh lead pair, Don 3 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Bollywood projects in recent years.

Although an official announcement has not yet been made, it is heavily believed that Kriti Sanon will star in the film.

In addition to the reports, Don 3‘s IMDb page now features Kriti Sanon’s name alongside Ranveer Singh, Sharvari and Vikrant Massey.

The film is backed by Excel Entertainment, which has produced the previous two Don films as well.
