"To get him would be amazing."
Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a British journalist, famous for presenting Channel 4 News.
Throughout his lengthy career, Krishnan has interviewed numerous celebrities and high-profile individuals.
However, one person who is on Krishnan’s wish list is none other than the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
Putin is currently one of the world’s most discussed leaders following the invasion and subsequent war in Ukraine.
Russia began the conflict in February 2022, and it triggered global backlash and increased sanctions against the country.
Since the start of the war, millions of lives have been lost, and several Ukrainians have been displaced.
Confirming his desire to interview the Russian leader, Krishnan Guru-Murthy stated:
“Putin has been at the top of my list for a long time. We have asked for an interview with him.
“He would be the big one. To get him would be amazing.
“He’s one of the most important people in the world.
“He’s powerful and responsible for one of the great scars in geopolitics at the moment with the war in Ukraine.
“There is a lot to hold him to account for.”
Not only has Krishnan interviewed several celebrities, but he has also conducted controversial conversations with notable individuals.
For example, during an interview with Robert Downey Jr, Krishnan asked the actor about his relationship with his estranged father and his past involving drugs.
Visibly uncomfortable, Robert replied: “I’m sorry, what are we doing?”
Krishan replied: “I’m just asking you questions.”
Robert simply said: “Bye”, before walking out of the interview.
On another occasion, Krishnan found himself in trouble with the acclaimed Hollywood director, Quentin Tarantino.
The journalist asked: “Why are you so sure that there’s no link between enjoying movie violence and enjoying real violence?”
An angry Tarantino shot back: “Don’t ask me a question like that. I’m not biting. I refuse your question.
“I’m not your slave, and you’re not my master. I am not dancing to your tunes.”
“I have explained what you’re talking about. I’m just not giving it to you. I’m shutting your butt down!”
Meanwhile, Putin has previously met with US President Donald Trump in Alaska to discuss an end to the war in Ukraine.
However, no deal was confirmed.
The two leaders were scheduled to meet in Budapest, Hungary, for another attempt at resolving the conflict.
But Trump recently confirmed that these plans were cancelled.
