"They simply believed that their duty was bigger."

The trailer for Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata has been released, and it is already drawing significant attention for its patriotic subject matter.

The film stars Kangana Ranaut and Girija Oak and pays tribute to the nurses and medical staff of Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital.

These are the healthcare workers who risked their own lives to protect hundreds of patients during the horrific 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai.

The film has been directed and written by Manoj Tapadia and is set entirely against the harrowing backdrop of that devastating November night.

The two-minute trailer opens with the sound of gunshots, police sirens and news coverage capturing the chaos of the 26/11 attacks.

It then shifts to the quieter and more intimate world of the nurses living their everyday lives inside the hospital before tragedy strikes.

Kangana plays a dedicated staff nurse whose commitment to her patients is evident even before the terror attack changes everything around her.

Her character is shown as someone who is not taken seriously at home and is sometimes dismissed even by the patients she serves with dedication.

But when the attack unfolds and lives hang in the balance, her true strength and moral clarity rise powerfully and decisively to the surface.

The trailer shows her putting her own safety entirely at risk to save patients who are trapped inside the besieged hospital building.

Her quiet and moving transformation from an overlooked caregiver to an unshakeable pillar of strength forms the emotional spine of the entire film.

The film ultimately aims to honour the medical staff who reportedly protected around 400 patients during the course of those devastating attacks.

Kangana spoke at length about the film and the deeper truth she believes it captures about ordinary people and extraordinary circumstances.

“So many of us make the mistake of underestimating the power of ordinary people capable of extraordinary courage.

“The trailer touches upon a truth that while medical training can be taught, bravery cannot.”

“The will to stand your ground in the face of fear, the instinct to serve humanity, and the grit to honour the oath nurses take…

“All of that comes from within. It comes from a belief that what you do matters, even if no one is watching, even if no one applauds.

“These nurses and ward boys did not see themselves as heroes; they simply believed that their duty was bigger than their fear.

“That belief saved lives. And that’s the essence of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata.

Her words capture the film’s central argument that heroism is not always announced but is often found quietly in the most unexpected people and places.

The trailer has been widely praised for shedding light on a group of individuals whose extraordinary courage has largely gone unrecognised.

Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Agashe, Aditya Mishra and Zahid Khan are all part of the cast.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is scheduled to arrive in theatres on June 12, 2026.
