"Yes, I wrote the song, I didn’t get any credit for it."
Javeria Saud has revealed that she wrote the lyrics of the super hit OST of Ishq Murshid but was allegedly not credited.
In a recent interview, Javeria revealed that she contributed to various title tracks for Pakistani dramas.
Despite this, she has allegedly been overlooked and not given the credit she deserves.
When asked by host Madeha Naqvi about her involvement in the Ishq Murshid title track, Javeria claimed:
“Yes, I wrote the song, I didn’t get any credit for it.”
She expressed her disappointment with her friends in the industry.
The actress stated that sometimes it is the betrayals from those close to you that can ultimately lead to personal growth.
She remarked: “You learn from the betrayal of friends, and I have no regrets about not receiving credit for my work.”
Javeria also discussed her role in producing the first season of the acclaimed drama series Khuda Aur Mohabbat.
She also wrote its song which was included in the second season due to its popularity.
However, she faced another setback when changes were made to the original soundtrack, and another artist was credited for her work.
When she raised concerns about this, Javeria Saud was met with the dismissive response:
“If the song hadn’t been a hit, you wouldn’t have complained, and now that it’s popular, you’re asking for credit.”
In her interview, she reiterated:
“I have written title tracks for several other dramas as well but have never been credited for any of them.”
Ishq Murshid achieved immense success, garnering impressive viewership both on television and YouTube.
This was all thanks to its engaging storyline and the popular song, ‘Tera Mera Hai Pyaar Amar’.
The OST of Ishq Murshid, which is credited to Ahmed Jahanzeb, became widely popular among fans.
The female vocalist, Fabiha Hashmi, also drew attention when she expressed her disappointment at not being invited to the drama’s premiere.
In May 2024, she shared her feelings on an Instagram Story, stating:
“This is really sad to know that being a part of the team they didn’t even invite me for the premiere. I feel disrespected.”
She emphasised the need for greater recognition of female voices in the industry, lamenting the treatment they often receive.
The singer added: “Knowing the fact that we don’t have enough female voices in the industry. Still they treat us like sh*t.”
