"Was it necessary to show an untoned belly?"
Javeria Saud has responded strongly after facing a wave of online criticism over her outfit worn at Pakistan Fashion Week UK.
The fashion event was organised by Riwayat and featured several Pakistani designers and celebrities showcasing their work abroad.
Javeria Saud walked the ramp, presenting her own clothing collection and was joined by her daughter Jannat and actor Sana Nawaz.
For the show, she chose a black saree paired with a silver half blouse and a long jacket.
The look immediately divided opinion online, with several social media users expressing disappointment and surprise at her styling choice.
Many critics linked her fashion appearance to her television persona, particularly her association with Ramzan transmissions and family-oriented shows.
One user questioned: “Is this the same Javeria who will host Ramzan transmissions with her head fully covered?”
Another comment read: “We didn’t expect this from Javeria Saud.”
Others were more direct in their criticism, focusing on her body and outfit choices during the ramp walk.
A user wrote: “Was it necessary to show an untoned belly? You are beautiful and could have chosen a better outfit.”
Another critic targeted both mother and daughter, claiming neither of them possessed a strong sense of fashion.
Several users also dismissed the fashion show itself, calling the outfits tacky, local, outdated and even low-class.
As the backlash gained traction, Javeria Saud addressed the criticism during an interview with UK-based journalist Murtaza Shah.
Speaking candidly, she dismissed the negativity, saying: “Some people who post negative comments will always do that.
“Such negative people are jealous of the whole world.
“No matter what you do, they will always stay bitter.”
The actor and producer also clarified misconceptions surrounding her outfit by responding directly on her Instagram account.
“I’m wearing full body suit under my outfit and I am not answerable to anyone.”

Javeria used the opportunity to redirect attention towards her professional journey and upcoming television projects.
She spoke about her continued involvement in content creation and production work.
“We are currently working on a production called Nikammay because there are many of them nowadays.”
She elaborated further, saying the project reflects people who avoid hard work and constantly search for excuses.
Javeria confirmed that she will soon return with her Ramzan transmission, a format she deeply enjoys hosting.
Calling it a personal learning experience, she added that the programme allows her to grow spiritually and professionally.
Despite the backlash, Javeria Saud appeared unfazed, choosing to focus on her work rather than public judgment.
