Javeria Saud recently broke her silence about her ongoing legal dispute with Salma Zafar.
Appearing on Express TV’s Ramadan transmission, Javeria shared her side of the story.
The actress shed light on the legal battle that has been making headlines since 2020.
The dispute began after Salma Zafar accused Javeria of financial misconduct involving payments to senior actors.
Salma claimed that Javeria’s production house, JJS Production House, owed her a significant amount of money.
According to her, she wasn’t paid for her work in the dramas Yeh Zindagi Hai and Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat Hai.
In a live Instagram session, Salma accused Javeria Saud and her husband Saud Qasmi of defrauding her and others.
The actress alleged that the couple owed her approximately PKR 10 million.
According to Salma Zafar, her efforts to resolve the payment issue were met with hostility.
She revealed that after reaching out to Javeria about the overdue payments, she was immediately blocked.
Salma also claimed that she had worked with Javeria and Saud for over six years, but her payments had never been cleared.
Expressing her frustration, Salma said:
“My hands are tied because I don’t have anything to prove my claims, but I know how to fight physically and legally.”
In response to these allegations, Javeria Saud revealed that she was left with no choice but to take legal action.
With the stricter legal environment, Javeria explained that she was able to present evidence that supported her case.
This resulted in Salma Zafar receiving a six-month sentence in one case and a three-month sentence in another.
Javeria added that Salma later issued a formal apology for her accusations, but for Javeria, the decision to go to court wasn’t easy.
It was, however, a necessary step to set an example for others in the industry.
The public dispute between the two actresses brought attention to the struggles faced by many within the entertainment industry.
Numerous personalities in the entertainment industry are often subjected to false allegations and rumours.
