"My own song is being released for the first time."
On Valentine’s Day, actress Jannatul Sumaiya Heme is stepping into a new creative space with a duet release.
She has collaborated with Rafi for a romantic track titled ‘Dujon Dujonar’, scheduled for release on February 13, 2026.
The song has been written by lyricist Kabir Bakul, while the composition has been crafted by Pulak Adhikary.
Released under the banner of Soundtek, the track is positioned as a Valentine’s special for romantic music lovers.
The accompanying music video features Heme alongside popular actor Tawsif Mahbub, adding visual charm to the song.
Directed by Saikat Reza, the video aims to capture intimacy and warmth rather than grand cinematic spectacle.
For Heme, this release carries particular emotional weight because it marks several personal firsts in her career.
Speaking about the project, she said: “Every year, many of my dramas are released on Valentine’s Day, and this year is no different.”
She added: “However, this time my own song is being released for the first time, so I am extremely excited.”
Heme further shared that acting in her own music video was also a new experience for her as an artist.
“I also acted in my own music video for the first time, so overall, I can hardly wait for its release.”
Although widely recognised for her acting, Heme has repeatedly expressed her long-standing desire to pursue singing.
Reflecting on her early ambitions, she once said:
“I have dreamt of becoming a singer from the beginning.”
She also revealed her formal musical training, saying she studied at Kochikachar Mela and later at Chhayanaut.
Her mentors included Shadhona Mitra and Ferdous Ara, whose guidance helped shape her understanding of classical music.
Heme’s musical journey officially began in 2023 with her debut original song ‘Poran Pakhi’.
That track was a collaboration with Avral Sahir, who handled the tune and composition responsibilities.
The lyrics of ‘Poran Pakhi’ were written by Shomeshwar Oli and released through Dhruba Music Station.
Interestingly, the song was also featured in the drama Poran Pakhi, directed by Mahin Awlad.
The drama starred Niloy Alamgir and Heme in lead roles.
In 2025, Heme also lent her voice to ‘Tumi Amay Bhalobasho’ alongside Siam Ahmed.
The song was created for Ittaydi and received widespread appreciation from audiences across digital platforms.
Written by Kabir Bakul, the track was tuned and arranged by Imran Mahmudul under Fagun Audio Vision.
With ‘Dujon Dujonar’, Jannatul Sumaiya Heme’s musical collaborations appear to be growing more confident and frequent.
