BLACKPINK star Jisoo has teased that a major collaboration is on the way, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation.
The 30-year-old K-pop idol shared a mysterious teaser image for a new track titled ‘Eyes Closed’, which she captioned:
“A duet is near.”
The promotional image features two silhouettes, and many fans believe one of them bears a striking resemblance to former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
Social media users have also pointed out that a quick Google search lists ‘Eyes Closed’ as a song by both Jisoo and Zayn Malik, further fuelling the rumours.
The speculation comes as Zayn, 32, recently revealed during a livestream that he has a new song with a “cool collaborator” on the way.
Without naming anyone, he told fans: “I’ve got some new music coming out soon with another cool collaborator. That is coming out first.”
He added that 2026 will be “a big year” for his music, suggesting major projects are in the works.
The ‘Pillowtalk’ singer also shared that his upcoming fifth studio album will include Indian musical influences, connecting back to his South Asian heritage.
Speaking during the same livestream, Zayn explained: “I have been working on some cool s*** in South Asian music and bringing those influences into my music as well. It is like pop, R&B, and a lot of Indian influences.
“The record is like a continuation of Mind of Mine in that sense. I might have some songs coming out in Urdu, too.”
Zayn’s comments have only strengthened fan theories that he and Jisoo might be working together, as both artists are known for experimenting with different sounds and global influences.
The pair were also linked earlier this year after Zayn was spotted attending BLACKPINK’s concert in New York with his daughter in July.
For Jisoo, ‘Eyes Closed’ would mark her first solo release since her debut mini-album Amortage, which arrived in February.
The record received strong reviews, including a four-star rating from NME.
Critic Crystal Bell praised the project, writing: “There’s always been an enigmatic quality to Jisoo… On Amortage, she steps forward, but never too close, embracing pop’s timeless pleasures – melody, emotion and a touch of mischief – with quiet self-assurance.”
Neither Jisoo nor Zayn have officially confirmed the collaboration, but fans are convinced that an announcement is imminent.
With both artists teasing new eras in their careers, ‘Eyes Closed’ could mark a major cultural crossover between K-pop and South Asian-influenced Western pop.
