“I have left it all to him."
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is allegedly set to make his big Bollywood debut.
Many people have been eagerly waiting for news of one of Aamir Khan’s children to make their big-screen debut.
If sources are to be believed, Junaid will make his debut in the remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, Ishq. The film revolves around the concept of moral policing.
Reportedly, the upcoming romantic thriller film will be helmed by Neeraj Pandey.
Aamir’s son has studied filmmaking in the United States. He trained for two years in American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.
He has also had a taste of acting on stage in Quasar Thakore Padamsee’s Mother Courage and Her Children and in sister, Ira Khan’s Medea.
Junaid Khan has also worked with director Rajkumar Hirani as an assistant director for the 2014 film, PK.
In fact, Aamir Khan starred in a film titled Ishq (1997) opposite Juhi Chawla, Ajay Devgn and Kajol.
In a 2019 interview, Aamir candidly spoke about Junaid’s inclination towards theatre over films. He said:
“It is up to him. He should lead his own life and take his own decisions. I don’t want to make it for him.
“I have left it all to him. He certainly has an inclination towards the creative world and towards filmmaking.
“He is following his path, he has studied theatre. He is actually more interested in theatre than films.
“I am allowing him to go and find his own path. That’s how it should be. He is very bright.”
Speaking about his son entering Bollywood, Aamir made it clear Junaid would have to follow the process and give auditions for his role. He said:
“If I feel there is something that I got and if he fits in, then only (then will I cast him). He will have to go through a casting process. He hasn’t auditioned for anything.”
Recently, Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan opened up about her 4-year battle with mental health.
Taking to Instagram on the wake of World Mental Health Day, Ira Khan shared a video explaining her diagnosis.
Previously, Ira also mentioned that she prefers “not to act” and is rather interested in directing and theatre.
As of yet, we wait for Aamir Khan and Junaid Khan to confirm the news.
