“I didn't feel that there was a need to inform"

The latest episode of The Pick & Drop, hosted by Yasir Hussain, featured his wife, Iqra Aziz as a guest.

The episode covered a range of topics, providing viewers with insights into their personal and professional lives.

However, a specific conversation about the dress Iqra wore in the drama Mannat Murad stirred controversy. It captured the attention of the internet.

The focal point of the controversy revolved around the attire worn by Iqra Aziz in the mentioned drama, specifically the dress she adorned for her on-screen wedding.

This choice of attire led to a social media uproar because Saboor Aly had worn the same dress for her actual wedding.

Iqra Aziz addressed the matter and said:

“I didn’t feel that there was a need to inform (Saboor) that I’ll be wearing a similar dress as hers for Mannat Murad because it was technically not hers.

“I was getting it from a designer but I was very much inspired by her look, I will say that. I think she looked stunning.”

The online discourse reflected a range of sentiments and perspectives on the matter.

Some understood Iqra’s stance while blaming Saboor for overreacting.

One user expressed: “Iqra is genuinely sweet; Saboor is making a big deal just to grab attention.”

Another said: “It was a rented dress, why is Saboor showing so much attitude over it?”

One wrote: “Saboor is so self-absorbed; Iqra is so humble. Saboor made an issue out of this as if she owned the brand.”

Another commented: “Guys, Saboor didn’t buy that dress.

“She was given the dress for promotional purposes. So she had no right to overreact as she doesn’t own it.”

Some claimed Iqra looked better in the dress.

One remarked: “She looked prettier than Saboor, anyways.”

Another commented:

“Such a classy and logical response from Iqra.”

However, not all viewers sided with Iqra’s stance. Many people claim that it wasn’t just the dress, but she copied Saboor’s appearance to every tiny detail.

One user questioned the resemblance: “Not just the dress, she copied her entire look, the hair, makeup, jewellery, everything.”

Another stated: “I still think it was not right to choose the dress with the same look.”

One expressed: “The dress had sentimental value for Saboor, as it was inspired by her late mother’s wedding dress. Iqra should not have worn it.”
