“Started with a right swipe, and now in a soup!"
The makers of Indoo Ki Jawani dropped the much-awaited trailer of the film showcasing an Indian heroine and Pakistani hero on November 23, 2020.
Written and directed by Abir Sengupta, the film is set to release in theatres on December 11, 2020.
Indoo Ki Jawani provides a comedy twist to the classic cross-border love story.
The film stars Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal in the lead roles.
The trailer shows Kiara saying that while she is single at present, she would like a boyfriend.
The trailer introduces her as Indoo Gupta, “Ghaziabad ki glam girl (the glamorous girl from Ghaziabad)”.
However, she concludes that there are hardly any good guys nowadays.
The trailer also shows Mallika Dua essaying the role of Sonal, Indoo’s best friend who seems to be in a spree of giving dating advice.
The trailer also shows Indoo trying Tinder to find herself a perfect match, before introducing the character of Samar, played by Aditya Seal.
Samar is a man from Pakistan disguising as a native from Hyderabad. Her life takes a new turn after she gets to know about his real identity.
What follows is a comedy of errors amidst police chases and a budding romance between the characters.
Emmay Entertainment took to Instagram to share the trailer of the film.
They posted: “Take a sneak peek into Indoo and Samar’s adventurous journey!
“#IndooKiJawani Trailer out now! Tune in!”
In an earlier interaction, Kiara had described the film to be an edgy, quirky and lovable story that is relevant to today’s time.
The plot is particularly daring, coming at a time when the two countries aren’t diplomatically on the best of terms.
Sharing the new release date of Indoo Ki Jawani on social media, Kiara wrote:
“It’s Happening! #IndooKiJawani in cinemas near you on 11th December 2020.”
While the film trailer has just been released, the first track was released in September 2020.
‘Hasina Pagal Deewani’ was the first track released from the film and it created a storm.
Indoo Ki Jawani will be among the first few films to be released in cinemas after the pandemic forced theatres to remain shut and new films to receive digital releases.
Abir Sengupta shared:
“I believe that audiences are looking forward to the cinema experience and that Indoo Ki Jawani will cater to the big-screen experience.”
