An Indian wife and her lover have been arrested for killing her husband. The shocking incident happened in the town of Phulera, Rajasthan.
It was reported that the wife held her husband’s hands down while her lover slit his throat.
The victim was identified as Dinesh Balai while the two suspects have been named Hemlata and Yogesh.
The matter came to light on the night of March 4, 2021, when Hemlata started screaming.
Hearing the screams, neighbours went to the house. She claimed that she went into the room and found her husband with his throat slit.
Police were informed of the incident and arrived at the scene.
Officers searched the room and took DNA samples.
Police took Hemlata in for questioning, however, they noticed discrepancies in her statements. When she was interrogated further, she admitted being responsible for his death.
She told police that she was having an affair with a man named Yogesh and her husband came to find out.
Hemlata said that Dinesh was becoming a hindrance in her relationship so she and Yogesh planned to kill him.
She explained that the murder had been planned in February 2021.
The Indian wife admitted to officers that the murder conspiracy would involve slitting Dinesh’s throat and placing two knives in the room to make it look like a suicide.
On the night of the murder, Dinesh went to bed after having his dinner.
Yogesh entered the bedroom in the early hours of the morning. It was revealed he planted two knives in the room two days earlier.
He took one of the knives and sat on Dinesh’s chest. Meanwhile, Hemlata held her husband’s hands down.
Yogesh then slit her husband’s throat before fleeing.
Following the murder, she left the room and started screaming in a bid to avoid detection.
Police confirmed that Hemlata was arrested and that the murder took place because her husband was obstructing her illicit relationship.
Officers later arrested Yogesh after tracking him down.
It was revealed that after the killing, Yogesh was standing among the locals and monitoring the police action while they investigated.
He stood among the locals, pretending to show sympathy.
Police questioned Yogesh and he admitted killing Dinesh. He was booked under the charge of murder.
The 22-year-old is a resident of Hirnoda village in Rajasthan.
