They then took turns raping her which went on for eight hours.
Police are looking for three suspects in New Delhi after they were part of a group who gang raped a teenager on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
It is heard that the eight-hour ordeal happened after the girl was kidnapped and drugged while on her way to a test-preparation centre.
The perpetrators later dropped the victim off in their car in Mahendragarh, a town 90 miles southwest of New Delhi.
It is reported that the girl suffered injuries on her back, shoulders and private parts.
The girl also had a severe pain in her throat, which left her struggling to speak.
Her mother said: “She has severe pain in her throat and is unable to talk or swallow anything.”
“They probably held her by the throat which led to this pain.”
She was taken to a hospital in Haryana state for treatment.
Police took the girl’s statement when she was in a stable condition.
The victim said that she was abducted from a bus stop by three people, but felt that 12 people were in the village home where she was raped.
Three of the attackers are known to the girl’s family and have been named as Pankaj, Nishu and Manish.
It is reported that Pankaj is a soldier in the Indian army.
Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson said:
“If an army personnel is involved in the crime we will ensure that the person is caught and booked for rape.”
“We do not shelter criminals.”
It was heard that the three men orchestrated the attack after following her to the bus stop.
The girl was taken from the bus stop in Mahendergarh after she was offered water, which was spiked.
She was taken to a house 25 miles away, where more men arrived. They then took turns raping her which went on for eight hours.
When they dropped her off at the bus stop, one of the men called her family to come and collect her.
Police officer Ashwini Kumar said that police know the identity of the three suspects, but they had switched off their phones and were evading arrests.
This is the latest in a series of sexual assaults in the country since 2012.
The government had passed a series of laws increasing punishment for rape of an adult to 20 years in prison.
However, it is rare for more than a few weeks to pass without another sexual assault case being reported.
In 2016, a mother was gang raped by three men and thrown off a building in Punjab.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau, approximately 100 sexual assaults are reported to police in India every day.
