"why don’t you come in front of me"

An Indian man addressed a viral video that appeared to show him involved in a heated confrontation outside a lift in Singapore.

The video showed the man shouting at several people, including a woman.

Things apparently escalated, with the pair pushing each other.

The man was seen being restrained by several men.

It was first shared on Facebook by an onlooker.

The initial post suggested that the fight started when the man tried to help a wheelchair user out of the lift.

The man, who identified himself as Suresh Vanaz, explained that he was helping his disabled brother but people did not give way as he backed out of the lift and instead, they berated him.

In a TikTok video, Suresh claimed that the viral clip was “edited” and hit out at those who criticised him without knowing the entire story.

He wrote: “There are many people out there who are trying to be keyboard warriors, why don’t you come in front of me and speak to me?

“And then look at the Filipino lady who has edited this and posted it on her social media.

“What can we do about these kinds of people in Singapore, brainless idiots and then our government is still supporting them.”

Suresh went on to say that he was scolded by a random man as he exited the lift. According to Suresh, the man’s wife also shouted at him.

He continued: “When the lift door opens, give way.

“Give way to those who are taking care of the physically challenged.”

@sureshvanaz VivoCity problem tonight I believe there’s a beautiful story behind it where some idiots just post small stories come in front of me to challenge #VivoCity #sureshvanaz #seelanletch #caregivers #Malaysia #Singapore ? original sound – Suresh Vanaz

Upon hearing his side of the story, many showed their support for Suresh.

One wrote: “So disappointed that we still have that kind of people looking for trouble instead of helping. Be kind be gracious be sweet to everyone.”

Another felt the woman who started the “drama” on social media must issue a public apology to Suresh and his brother.

A user suggested: “The president must take steps to control Racism. Singapore is such a beautiful country and is the biggest tourist place.

“So people need to show respect to all and welcome all. Why spoil the peace of a country?”

The initial video, which was posted on the Complaints Singapore Facebook page, has since been removed.
