"Ibrahim is very good at football."
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, has signed up for the All Stars Football Club.
The football fanatic has often made it known that he loves the sport on social media. In fact, Ibrahim used to play football in college and was selected to play for the team.
However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, playing football was drastically limited.
Despite this, Ibrahim Ali Khan has started the new year by embarking on a new venture with the All Stars Football Club.
The team, which is led by film producer Bunty Walia, includes some of the biggest names in the film industry.
These include captain Abhishek Bachchan, vice-captain Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Dino Morea and many more.
Ibrahim was inducted on Sunday, January 17, 2021. The team was spotted practising on a field in Mumbai today.
However, Abhishek and Ranbir were missing due to other professional commitments.
Meanwhile, Bunty was present at the ground. According to a source close to the team:
“The team is gearing up for two big matches, one each in Dubai and Bengaluru, in the next few weeks.
“Prior to that, the team will meet at least once, every week, in Mumbai for practice.
“Everyone has been home for a while. Some of us have also resumed work. But getting back in form for football is a different thing.
“It’s important now, given that we have matches scheduled ahead.”
Interestingly, when he arrived back in India from England in 2020, Ibrahim played a match with the team’s captain and vice-captain, Abhishek and Ranbir respectively.
Ibrahim was later asked to join the All Stars Football Club by Bunty to which Ibrahim immediately agreed.
Speaking about Ibrahim’s addition to the team, Bunty said: “Ibrahim is very good at football.
“He deserves to be here. I welcome him with open arms.”
There is no doubt Ibrahim will make it to the starting line-up given his background in the sport.
Despite Ibrahim’s love for football, his father, actor Saif Ali Khan has hinted at his son’s possible acting debut. He said:
“He should, he’s good looking, better looking than I am! He’s a very charming guy. I definitely think all my children would be interested in acting.
“We’re an acting family, the whole bunch of us are in the industry.”
On the sporting front, the All Stars Football Club’s matches have been postponed due to the pandemic.
Initially, the team’s matches were scheduled to start in January 2021 in Dubai, Bengaluru, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
However, Bunty will soon announce the new dates. In the meantime, the players will begin practising.
