“I think I made a mistake getting into marriage"

In an interview, Hiba Ali bravely shared her personal struggles, including her divorce and child custody case.

Hiba revealed that her divorce was an unplanned outcome.

She expressed her desire to live with her husband because he was the father of her son.

However, the constant fighting over trivial matters made it impossible for them to stay together.

Hiba said: “We couldn’t stay fighting daily over small things. We decided on divorce at a dinner table.”

Furthermore, Hiba shared her shock when her ex-husband filed a child custody case.

Despite this difficult situation, they were able to reach a compromise outside the court.

This was because Hiba was determined not to give up on her relationship with her son.

Reflecting on her choices, she admitted to questioning whether she made a mistake by getting married.

She said: “I think I made a mistake getting into marriage, or I should not have taken a divorce.”

Hiba Ali also talked about her struggles with depression.

She emphasised the importance of understanding that mental illness is not always visible and should not be seen as a personal failure.

The actress said: “Just because you can’t see someone’s mental illness doesn’t mean it’s not there.”

Hiba highlighted that depression can affect anyone, including loved ones and children, and that it can lead to tragic outcomes such as suicide.

Despite dealing with mental illness, Hiba expressed her resilience and urged others to appreciate those who are fighting and surviving through such challenges.

“At least appreciate us, who are dealing with it, for surviving.

“This is all very difficult and I don’t even let people around me know that I am going through a severe mental illness.”

She acknowledged the difficulty of sharing her struggles openly, as there is a fear of being labelled as attention-seeking.

Hiba Ali stressed that her intention is not to seek attention or gain any benefit from discussing her mental health but rather to raise awareness.

Her followers showed their support for Hiba Ali.

One said: “It’s not given that a divorce should be done with enmities. You can part like normal humans.

“It’s not the end of the world but it’s designed for new beginnings.”

Another wrote: “It is indeed very difficult to live in an incompatible marriage.”
