"The trophy is home.”
Gaurav Khanna has been crowned the winner of Bigg Boss 19 after spending more than three and a half months inside the house.
The Anupamaa star secured the title during the grand finale hosted by Salman Khan.
He took home a cash prize of Rs. 5 million along with the iconic Bigg Boss trophy, bringing the season to a dramatic close.
Farrhana Bhatt finished as the first runner-up after competing against Gaurav in the final two.
Pranit More ended his journey as the second runner-up. Singer Amaal Mallik was the first contestant evicted from the top five, followed by Tanya Mittal.
Amaal admitted he was surprised by his eviction:
“I didn’t expect to be eliminated from the top five. We were among the strongest players this season.”
Salman Khan also offered feedback during the interaction:
“You started strong and looked like a winner. But in the second half, your graph dropped because you began relying on others’ opinions. Still, you’ve come a long way and done well.”
Salman also paid tribute to Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24.
A visibly emotional Salman said: “Throughout my career, I have only admired Dharmendra Ji.
“No other actor matched his charm, with that innocent face and his iconic ‘He-Man’ physique.”
Salman also praised the respectful manner in which funerals were conducted for Dharmendra and Sooraj Barjatya’s mother. He underlined the importance of dignity and decorum at public ceremonies.
The star-studded finale featured returning contestants and celebrity guests.
After Amaal’s eviction, Salman welcomed the lead cast of Tu Meri Mai Tera Mai Tera Tu Meri. Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan entertained the audience with tongue twisters and dance performances.
Throughout the season, Gaurav built a reputation for calm and restraint. He was frequently criticised for playing on the back foot but later silenced doubts by becoming the first official finalist of the season.
Speaking at the Bigg Boss 19 press conference before the finale, he said previous winners had shown that success did not require abusive language or constant conflict.
He said audience support for a dignified game could show that fairness and restraint still win within a confrontational format.
Soon after his victory, the Bigg Boss 19 champion celebrated with fans on Instagram, writing:
“Winnnnnerrrr is hereeeeeee! Grateful for your immense support #KhannaKaKhaandaan. The trophy is home.”
The TV actor’s Bigg Boss victory is his second win on a reality show.
In April 2025, he won the inaugural season of Celebrity MasterChef India.
