"Faryal has said she wants to show she’s not a doormat"
It is reported that Faryal Makhdoom has signed up for ITV Celebrity Big Brother.
ITV bosses are said to have offered Amir Khan’s wife a lucrative contract in a bid to secure her place as part of the star line-up.
Faryal is believed to be eager to go into the Big Brother house so that the public can get to know her following a turbulent year with her husband.
She is also reportedly desperate to change the public’s perception of her after she forgave Amir over his cheating scandal.
Bosses hope Faryal Makhdoom brings drama to the house.
A source told The Sun: “Faryal is a huge signing for Celebrity Big Brother.
“She’s had her ups and downs with Amir but wants to step into the limelight in her own right.
“Faryal has said she wants to show she’s not a doormat that he walks all over.
“She is fiery and feisty and will make a brilliant housemate.”
Amir Khan recently praised his “forgiving” wife Faryal after he was publicly embroiled in several cheating scandals.
In the summer of 2023, a bridal model named Sumaira claimed Amir “begged” her to send him racy pictures.
She went on to allege that Amir said his marriage to Faryal was a “bit of a business arrangement”.
Amir later admitted to texting Sumaira, stating he was bored.
Another woman said she had a four-month affair with the retired boxer and had a night of hotel sex with him.
The woman claimed their affair only ended when Faryal threatened to “name and shame” her.
Former BBC presenter Suzi Mann accused Amir of “flirting” with her and “making sexual advances” following a meeting at an event in 2016.
It is believed that the couple were separated and were living apart last summer. However, they reconciled and continue to be pictured at events together.
Faryal Makhdoom will be joined in the Big Brother house by Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith.
Celebrity Big Brother is expected to air in March 2024.
The show is also reportedly lining up contestants such as Dragons’ Den entrepreneur and former X Factor judge Louis Walsh.
ITV has taken the reins of Big Brother following a stint at Channel 5, which axed the programme in 2018 after taking it from Channel 4, which itself had binned the format in 2010.
