Divya Agarwal opened up on her split from Varun Sood and how her fiance helped her get over the breakup.
The Bigg Boss OTT winner surprised fans when she announced her engagement to businessman Apurva Padgaonkar.
She has now revealed that she went “through a tough phase” after splitting up with Varun Sood and Apurva was there for her.
She also said that she knew that Apurva was the “kind of guy I wanted to marry”.
Divya and Varun split up in March 2022 after four years together. In a message to Varun, she said:
“Thank you Varun for everything. Will always be good friends.”
Speaking about her relationship with Apurva, Divya said:
“Life has come full circle. I have known Apurva for a long time and we dated each other between 2015 and 2018, but then we drifted apart.
“However, we continued to keep in touch. He was always that friend who I could go to any time.
“After Varun and I broke up in March 2022, I was going through a tough phase. Apurva was there for me like a best friend, who stood by me like a rock.
“So, though I was not expecting a proposal, in my mind I knew that he was the kind of guy I wanted to marry.”
Revealing when she plans to get married, Divya Agarwal continued:
“Initially, he did feel that we had long and different working hours, but now he understands.
“I always feel that in a relationship even if two people are the opposite of each other, what matters is how much one understands and adapts to what the other likes.
“We haven’t set a date yet, but marriage will happen next year.
“Everything in my life has happened unplanned. For now, I just want to enjoy my life with him.”
Divya Agarwal announced her engagement on her 30th birthday.
She shared photos from her birthday party as well as her engagement ring.
Divya wrote: “Will I ever stop smiling? Probably not. Life just got more sparkly and I found the right person to share this journey with. His #BaiCo.
“A forever promise. From this important day, I will never walk alone.”
The announcement shocked fans as it came just nine months after breaking up with Varun Sood. This led to some negative responses.
Admitting she was shocked by the reactions on social media, Divya said:
“I would not want to comment on his reaction, but I would expect some sensitivity from fans regarding my engagement.
“I have been in relationships and have always been open about it, but that should not mean that netizens can say anything on my personal life.
“I am engaged now and they should show some sensitivity and not talk about my past relationship. I am in a very happy space and look forward to my life with Apurva.”
