Divya Agarwal has responded to those who accused her of being a “gold digger”.
The Bigg Boss OTT winner surprised fans when she announced her engagement to businessman Apurva Padgaonkar on her 30th birthday.
While there were congratulatory messages, some were shocked because the engagement came just nine months after Divya split up with Varun Sood.
As a result, social media users attacked her for allegedly dumping Varun to get engaged to “rich” Apurva.
One said: “Money over relationship… Where will you work with him too?”
Another addressed Varun and wrote: “Told ya before… this dumb will leave you for a rich man.”
A third said: “In the end, money prevails.”
Others claimed Divya had cheated on Varun with Apurva, with some posting pictures of Divya with Apurva before her breakup.
There were claims she cheated on Varun while he was in Turkey filming a project.
Divya has now responded to the trolls, urging them to be sensitive and avoid discussing her past, adding that she has been open and honest about all her relationships.
Divya said: “I would not want to comment on his reaction, but I would expect some sensitivity from fans regarding my engagement.
“I have been in relationships and have always been open about it, but that should not mean that netizens can say anything on my personal life.
“I am engaged now and they should show some sensitivity and not talk about my past relationship.
“I am in a very happy space and look forward to my life with Apurva.”
In her engagement post, Divya Agarwal wrote:
“I always just wanted a happy family and Waheguru heard it.
“Thankful to each one of you all who were a part of the celebration..It’s indeed the most important day of my life #missyoupapa.”
In another post, she said: “I love my people.. been with them since years… the value n love is unbeatable… Apurva connects me to my roots, my family, and friends.. thank you.”
Divya previously revealed that Apurva helped her to move on after breaking up with Varun.
She said: “Life has come full circle. I have known Apurva for a long time and we dated each other between 2015 and 2018, but then we drifted apart.
“However, we continued to keep in touch. He was always that friend who I could go to any time.
“After Varun and I broke up in March 2022, I was going through a tough phase. Apurva was there for me like a best friend, who stood by me like a rock.
“So, though I was not expecting a proposal, in my mind I knew that he was the kind of guy I wanted to marry.”
