Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh delighted fans this Diwali with a heartwarming surprise. The couple introduced their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, in a joint Instagram post.
Young Dua smiled sweetly in the pictures, holding her tiny finger in her mouth.
Deepika cradled her daughter in her arms while Ranveer smiled beside them.
For the occasion, Deepika and Dua matched in regal red.
Meanwhile, Ranveer kept his look traditional in a white kurta pyjama.
In one of the pictures, Dua sat on Deepika’s lap as the mother-daughter duo prayed during Diwali celebrations at home.
The post was captioned: “Heartiest wishes of Diwali.”
Fans and celebrities quickly flooded the comments section.
Ananya Panday commented: “Oh my god.”
Many fans called Dua “adorable” and wished the family a happy Diwali.
Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024.
The couple, who married in 2018, have been open about how meaningful Dua’s arrival has been for them.
Last Diwali, they announced her name with a touching post.
The couple wrote: “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.”
Since she and Ranveer became parents, Deepika has spoken about motherhood in several interviews.
She previously revealed that it took the couple two months to decide on Dua’s name.
Deepika said: “I think what was more important for us was to first hold the baby in our arms, allow her to sort of see this new world she’s come into, and allow her personality to start developing a little bit.”
Deepika also shared how the name came to her unexpectedly:
“It felt like a beautiful summary of what she means to us and why she means what she means to us.”
She added that she texted the name to Ranveer in the middle of the night while he was away on a shoot.
Meanwhile, on the film front, Ranveer has several major projects lined up, including Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film and Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Deepika Padukone was last seen in Singham Again, helmed by Rohit Shetty, alongside Ranveer, Kareena Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
The film, which was released in 2024, was a box-office success.
Deepika has since been announced as the female lead in a new sci-fi film by filmmaker Atlee, co-starring Allu Arjun. Produced by Sun Pictures, the project is tentatively titled AA22 x A6.
She is also expected to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in King.
