"Me and the family are in Chardi kalan."
Punjabi singer Chani Nattan appeared to break his silence days after gunshots were fired outside his home in Canada.
Gunshots were fired outside the artist’s Surrey home in what was believed to be a targeted gang attack.
Chani has now shared his first message since the shooting.
In an Instagram Story, he shared a photo of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa along with a message thanking fans for their support.
He wrote: “Thank you all for the love and prayers past few days. Me and the family are in Chardi kalan. Dhan Guru Nanak.”
It comes after reports emerged that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the incident.

Police confirmed that a social media account named Goldy Dhillon, believed to be linked to Bishnoi, took credit for the attack.
According to officers, the post stated that the firing was connected to Chani’s association with fellow Punjabi singer Sardar Khehra.
The alleged post read: “The reason for the shooting at singer Chani Nattan’s house is Sardar Khehra.
“Any singer who works with or has any connection with Sardar Khehra in the future will be responsible for their own losses, because we will continue to inflict significant damage (harm) on Sardar Khehra.”
Police said they were verifying the authenticity of the social media claims.
A 15-second video circulating online captured the sound of multiple gunshots fired at a house during the night.
Born in Surrey, Canada, Chani Nattan is known for blending traditional Punjabi sounds with contemporary beats.
His music, which often explores themes of identity and resilience, has made him one of the leading voices of the Punjabi diaspora.
While Chani Nattan did not directly address the shooting in his Instagram Story, his words of gratitude and mention of Chardi kalan, a Punjabi term signifying eternal optimism, suggest a message of strength and optimism in the face of adversity.
Authorities in Canada continue to investigate the attack.
Police said it links to a recent rise in violent acts attributed to the Bishnoi gang and its associates abroad.
On October 16, comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, was attacked for the third time in a span of just four months.
The assault was claimed via social media by Goldy Dhillon and Kulveer (Kuldeep) Sidhu.
The latest attack occurred only two weeks after the cafe reopened with additional security.
Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon was left injured after being shot.
