Bollywood distributor, Narendra Hirawat, faces major financial losses due to the poor box office performances of Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal.

Bollywood Distributor loses Money due to Salman Khan and SRK

"Salim saab has promised to compensate us for the loss. I’m confident they will do it."

After the unexpected failures of Salman Khan’s Tubelight and SRK’s Jab Harry Met Sejal, it seems that even their Bollywood distributor has suffered a huge financial loss.

Altogether, the distributor has reportedly lost Rs. 60 crores (approx. £7.2million)!

With this staggering amount, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan appear to have landed in hot water as they may have to compensate the loss.

Narendra Hirawat, from NH Studioz and the actors’ Bollywood distributor, had bought the rights to the films prior their release. The film figure had reportedly hoped to create massive success with Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal.

However, in the box office, things turned sour.

Salman Khan’s historical drama failed to ignite a spark upon its release. Subsequently, it tanked and failed to produce any profits. In addition, while SRK’s latest film received plenty of coverage and anticipation, it too eventually failed at the box office.

Now, as the total amount of losses has emerged, the Bollywood distributor has revealed his hopes of the two acting legends compensating him. Back in July 2017, reports suggested that Salman Khan would pay back Narendra Hirawat roughly Rs 50 – 55 crores (approx. £600,000 – £660,000).

However, the Bollywood distributor has recently revealed that the actor has not compensated him as of yet. Narendra Hirawat said to Mid-Day: “We haven’t received any money from Salman Khan. All these reports about distributors receiving money, are false.

“But I have worked with them many times and we have always been on good terms. Salim saab has promised to compensate us for the loss. I’m confident they will do it. Whenever it happens, I will inform everyone about it.”

The film figure also spoke on the matter of SRK and Jab Harry Met Sejal.

“The movie has not lived up to the expectations, because of which we have suffered a huge loss. Like Salman, I have worked with Shah Rukh in the past too. He is a nice person.

“I hope we get some kind of compensation for Jab Harry Met Sejal too, but it is all up to them [the producers]. As of now, there hasn’t been any word on it.”

Salim Khan, the father of Salman, spoke to Mid-Day regarding Hirawat’s comment and explained that the money would be repaid. He revealed:

“We haven’t returned the money yet, as it takes time to calculate the amount. Many people are involved, so, it can’t be done overnight. We will definitely return the money.”

SRK has not yet responded to the new reports.

However, it seems clear that the Bollywood distributor feels confident that the two actors will repay the huge loss. Fans will surely keep a close eye on new updates to the story.
