Ishq Murshid premiered and Bilal Abbas Khan impressed his audiences with his performance as he made his television comeback.

Bilal Abbas Khan is impressing audiences in Ishq Murshid, which marks his first television role since Kuch Ankahi.

The show, which also stars Dur-e-Fishan, premiered on Hum TV on October 8, 2023.

Ishq Murshid is based on the story of Shahmir (Bilal Abbas Khan) and Shibra (Dur-e-Fishan).

Shahmir comes from a wealthy family and is secretly in love with Shibra, who says she has no desire to marry into a rich family.

Shahmir attempts to win Shibra’s affection without revealing his family background.

The drama also stars Rabia Noreen, Srha Asghar, Omair Rana, Noor-ul-Hassan, Sajid Shah and Salma Hassan.

It has been written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and directed by Farooq Rind.

The first episode has gone off to a stellar start and drama fans took to YouTube to share their opinions on the debut.

One individual said: “The cast, set, storyline and most importantly, the music is so refreshing.

“Finally, the audience will see quality artwork after a long time.”

Another praised Bilal’s performance and commented:

“The body language, the aura that Bilal holds in every character he plays is just so perfect.

“Like always, he gets into the character and absorbs himself into it. He is a maestro.”

Bilal Abbas Khan began his acting career in 2016 when he played a supporting role in the drama Saaya-e-Deewar Bhi Nehi.

The drama also starred Naveen Waqar, Ahsan Khan and Emmad Irfani.

Since his debut, Bilal has starred in many titles and has played numerous lovable characters such as Qasim in O Rangreza, Abdullah in Pyar Ke Sadqay, Mahir in Dobara and most recently, Salman in Kuch Ankahi.

He has worked with actors such as Nauman Ijaz, Sajal Aly, Hadiqa Kiani, Yumna Zaidi, Omair Rana and Sana Javed.

Bilal was most recognised for his role in Cheekh with Saba Qamar and it was since the release of this drama that he became acknowledged as a lead actor, opening the door to many more leading roles.

He has been dubbed a “master performer of this age” by the Daily Times, whilst ARY News stated he was an amazing actor who was going from strength to strength.

He won the Lux Style Awards for Best TV Actor in 2021 for his part in Pyar Ke Sadqay, and again in 2023 for his role in Dobara.
