"I saw my mom doing everything by herself."
Avneet Kaur recalled the beginning of her career and the challenges of moving from Punjab to Mumbai.
The 22-year-old revealed how her mother supported her while her father was not around.
Avneet is gearing up for the release of Luv Ki Arrange Marriage, where she plays Ishika.
She opened up on navigating her character’s relationship with a single parent and what she found most interesting about the role.
Avneet explained: “I found portraying Ishika’s relationship with a single parent quite relatable in some ways.
“Although I am fortunate to have both of my parents, there was a period in my life when I had just started my career and had to move from Punjab to Mumbai.
“During that time, my mom was the one who supported me and took care of everything while my dad was not around.
“I saw my mom doing everything by herself.
“I witnessed the challenges firsthand and the strength of single parents. I admire single mothers for their resilience and the incredible job they do in raising and nurturing their children.
“So, I can relate to that situation as well, and I’m so proud of all the single mothers.
“They have always done a commendable job of nurturing and teaching their children so many good things in life.”
Luv Ki Arrange Marriage revolves around unconventional love stories and single parents.
On whether love and marriage have no age limit, the actress said:
“I think that’s true. Love knows no age or any other external factors, so those things don’t matter when it comes to love.
“When you love a person, you just love them, you don’t see all these things. I think that is beautifully shown in this story as well.
“I can’t reveal who gets married in the film at this moment, but there are numerous love stories and angles that will keep the audience thoroughly entertained.”
Luv Ki Arrange Marriage will be released on June 14, 2024, on ZEE5.
Avneet Kaur recently made her Cannes debut, where she announced her international debut with the Indo-Vietnames film Love In Vietnam.
Revealing she was planning to go on holiday to the south of France, Avneet said:
“Just a few days after that, I did a meeting with (filmmaker) Omung Kumar and he narrated me a film, which was supposed to be a first-time collaboration between India and Vietnam.
“He asked me if I wanted to do it, and as I was saying yes, he told me that the film will be announced at Cannes. I feel like I manifested it.”
Discussing the unique film, Avneet Kaur added:
“I never thought that I will be making my international debut in Vietnam. But I am glad that this is happening.”
“The market there is so big which I didn’t even know about.
“This film has led to so many new ways of connecting Vietnam and India together.”
