Asim Riaz came under fire from Shehnaaz Gill fans after he posted a cryptic tweet.
Shehnaaz was seen in public for the first time since the tragic death of her close friend Sidharth Shukla.
The popular celebrity attended her manager’s engagement party on December 26, 2021, bringing joy to her fans who were happy to see her smiling after a difficult few months.
But just a few days later, her fellow Bigg Boss 13 contestant Asim Riaz posted a tweet that was seemingly aimed at Shehnaaz.
The tweet read: “Just saw few dancing clips… seriously people get over loved ones so soon Kya baat kya baat… #Newworld.”

The tweet caused a lot of controversy, with many of Shehnaaz’s fans criticising Asim.
Many questioned his views while stating that Shehnaaz is trying to heal.
Bigg Boss 13 contestant Kashmera Shah said:
“You are wrong. Please believe me. Let’s not judge people so fast without knowing the truth.”
Karanvir Bohra also sided with Shehnaaz, writing:
“I feel like retweeting this again, coz some people just can’t see others smile, and especially when they’re trying to coming out of a dark place.
“It’s got nothing to do with the #newworld, it’s called #tryingtoheal.”
In a lengthy post, Vikas Gupta wrote:
“Everyone has their own way of dealing with grief and hurt.
“As we enter this world it’s not just one relationship that you enter into that’s your mother but then father, your siblings, grandparents, relatives, post which it’s the family you choose.
“Your friends your mentors.
“Sometimes we are closer to our one than our others, friends than siblings love isn’t and shouldn’t be dependent on any basis.
“When you lose any loved ones do you stop celebrating love from others.”
Anger towards Asim continued and it led to #ShameOnAsimRiaz trending.
One person said:
“He has f****d up big time. Negative publicity, but at what cost? your fans?”
His girlfriend Himanshi Khurana sided with Asim and posted a tweet.

But this did not change the minds of Shehnaaz’s fans, with one person saying:
“Sidharth and Shehnaaz will always stay in our hearts forever.
“They taught us not to pay attention to people like you two.
“But l am literally disgusted and irritated with you two. So you better stop uttering s*** about them.”
The backlash prompted Asim to release a statement, explaining that his tweet was not aimed at Shehnaaz, but at some of his friends.
He said: “Guys I got your attention and I think I need to clear this now.
“I lost one of my good friends last month from Jammu and a few of my friends from the same group are partying right now in Goa.
“So I was actually telling them not who you all are assuming and remember if I wanna say anything I have those guts to come up to say it directly.
“I have close ones too, I have my homies around too. So stop targeting stop taking out loopholes and stop taking sympathy.”
